The outdoor units are insulated steel containers on the ground floor with 24/7 drive-up access; the lower-cost units are inside an access-controlled building, on the hours shown on each unit.

About Freshford

Freshford is a Somerset village in the Avon valley, south-east of Bath, close to where the River Frome joins the Avon, with a parish population of 551; it lies in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and its centre is a conservation area. The village dates from Saxon times, a mill existed here as early as 1086, and Freshford Bridge over the River Frome dates from the early to mid 16th century. In the 19th century freestone and fuller’s earth were mined in the parish, alongside cloth-making, malt-kilns, breweries and fulling mills, and the derelict Freshford Mill and the many weavers’ cottages still show how important weaving was. The village played the idyllic English village in the Ealing comedy The Titfield Thunderbolt, filmed in 1952.

Freshford today

Freshford is now largely residential, and its houses have names instead of numbers. Freshford station, opened in 1857, has trains north to Bath Spa and Bristol and south to Bradford-on-Avon, Trowbridge and Westbury, and the village is close to the A36. St Peter’s Church, whose tower was added in 1514, is Grade II* listed, and the Methodist chapel was opened by John Wesley. The village has Freshford Primary School, founded in 1847, a Memorial Hall used by a thriving pre-school, and a pub called The Inn beside the River Frome — which has never been an inn. Moving in, clearing out or between homes — our Southwick yard is about 12 minutes away.

From a locker to a 20 ft container

Units run from 15 sq ft to a 160 sq ft (20 ft) container. As a rough guide: 15 to 20 sq ft takes boxes, a bike or the contents of a box room; 29 to 40 sq ft a one-bedroom flat or a garage clear-out; 80 sq ft the contents of a two- or three-bedroom house; 160 sq ft a large family home or business stock.
