Our yard is at Dillybrook Business Park, Southwick — about 12 minutes from Frome via the A361 and the A36. The outdoor units are insulated steel containers on the ground floor with 24/7 drive-up access; the lower-cost units are inside an access-controlled building, on the hours shown on each unit.

About Frome

Frome is a Somerset town at the eastern end of the Mendip Hills, on the River Frome south of Bath, with a population of 28,567 at the 2021 census. It was founded in the 7th century in the middle of Selwood Forest, and until the Industrial Revolution it was one of the largest towns in Somerset, growing first on wool and cloth and later on metal-working and printing — J W Singer’s foundry cast the bronze statue of Boudica that stands next to Westminster Bridge. In April 2010 the Frome Hoard, 52,500 Roman coins from the third century AD, was found in a field near the town. Its name comes from an old Celtic word for fair, fine or brisk, describing the flow of the river.

Frome today

Frome has 370 listed buildings, the most in Somerset outside Bath, and most of the centre is a conservation area, from cobbled Catherine Hill to Cheap Street, which has a stream running down the middle. The town centre has a considerable number of independent shops, markets are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and ‘The Independent’ street market on the first Sunday of each month from March to December draws an average of 10,000 people. The ten-day Frome Festival in July, the Cheese and Grain market and concert hall and two theatres keep the arts scene busy. Frome station, opened in 1850, is one of the oldest railway stations still in operation in Britain, and the A361 bypasses the town. Units run from 15 sq ft to a 160 sq ft (20 ft) container. As a rough guide: 15 to 20 sq ft takes boxes, a bike or the contents of a box room; 29 to 40 sq ft a one-bedroom flat or a garage clear-out; 80 sq ft the contents of a two- or three-bedroom house; 160 sq ft a large family home or business stock.
