Our yard is on the outskirts of Trowbridge at Dillybrook Business Park, Southwick: under 10 minutes from the town centre along the A361 Frome Road, and in the same BA14 postcode district as the town. The outdoor units are insulated steel containers on the ground floor with 24/7 drive-up access; the lower-cost units are inside an access-controlled building, on the hours shown on each unit.

About Trowbridge

Trowbridge is Wiltshire’s county town, on the River Biss, with a parish population of 37,169 at the 2021 census. Its name is thought to come from treow-brycg, ‘tree bridge’ — the first bridge over the Biss. In the late 18th and early 19th centuries it was the leading woollen-cloth town of south-west England, known as ‘the Manchester of the West’; the last mill, Salter’s Home Mill, closed in 1982. Ushers brewery opened here in 1824, and Bowyers, started in 1805, grew into one of the town’s largest employers. The Town Hall was given to the town by mill-owner Sir William Roger Brown in 1889, the poet George Crabbe was rector of St James’s Church from 1814 until his death in 1832, and Sir Isaac Pitman, of Pitman shorthand, was born here in 1813.

Trowbridge today

County Hall on Bythesea Road is the base of Wiltshire Council. Trowbridge Museum and Art Gallery, in the Shires shopping centre, has working looms on display, and St Stephen’s Place leisure park opened a seven-screen Odeon cinema in 2013. The station is on the Wessex Main Line (Bristol–Westbury–Southampton) and the Heart of Wessex Line (Bristol–Westbury–Weymouth), and the Kennet and Avon Canal runs to the north of the town. The parish takes in Longfield, Lower and Upper Studley, Studley Green and Trowle Common, and the town is still growing: in 2025 Wiltshire Council approved up to 2,500 new homes at Ashton Park, on the south-east side of Trowbridge. Moving in, clearing out or between homes — we are just down the A361.

From a locker to a 20 ft container

Units run from 15 sq ft to a 160 sq ft (20 ft) container. As a rough guide: 15 to 20 sq ft takes boxes, a bike or the contents of a box room; 29 to 40 sq ft a one-bedroom flat or a garage clear-out; 80 sq ft the contents of a two- or three-bedroom house; 160 sq ft a large family home or business stock. Clearing a house, loft or garage in Trowbridge? Pick the size and the move-in date that suit you, drive up to the door to load, and give two weeks’ notice when you’re done. There’s no deposit and no long-term contract, and no minimum stay — but a minimum of two weeks’ rent at full price applies.

For stock, tools, equipment or archive boxes, the outdoor containers have 24/7 drive-up access, so a van can load at the door at any hour. The 160 sq ft (20 ft) container takes business stock; 15 to 20 sq ft suits boxes.
